Just a couple of messages this week as we finish the term.
Firstly - I recognised Fletcher at Celebration Time today, and it is worth sharing here as well. On camp there can be homesick children, and the adults are amazing at helping and supporting them through this. On the first night a child woke up, and became upset that they weren’t at home. Fletcher woke up, and preceded to help this child…do you need a drink, shall we go to the bathroom, remember all the awesome things today, what was you best activity, what are you most excited about tomorrow…did all of that so when a camp adult got there, the child was basically sorted as Fletcher had done all the adult comforting things! I think that is an amazing story of a real DPS Kid showing all of our PRIDE values and Core Beliefs in action. You’re a top man Fletcher, thanks for being a legend.
Secondly - I wish you all a good break. We have had a great term at school, so positive and engaged. The learning has been amazingly powerful, some great academic progress made…and we have seen some incredible creations across the term. Even today, our Moving March parade was a great time, with a heap of Creativity in action!
Massive thank you for the turn out earlier this week for Learning Conversations. We love having whānau in, and we love that our students (your children) get to share their awesome learning with you. Proud kids, and proud families.
If you weren’t able to make it in, reach out to your class teacher and they will sort a time early next term.
