About Netball

Netball 2009 Netball at DPS is offered to both boys and girls in years 3-6. This year Netball Wairarapa has lost 12 teams over the primary grade, however DPS has been able to maintain 5 teams from players in year 3-6. We also have more boys playing this year. This is thanks to the many parents who encourage their children to play a Saturday morning sport and a very enthusiastic staff. This year we had 8 staff members and a parent raise their hand to coach so have had to share them around our 5 teams. They are: George Lologa – DPS Magic (Future ferns Year 3) Hayley Jones and Amanda Owen – DPS Mystics (Future Ferns Year 4) Lacey McCarthy and Gemma Paterson – DPS Steel (Grade 6 Year 4,5 & 6) Patrice O’Connor and Kerry Begg – DPS Tactix (Grade 6 Year 5 & 6) Amy Williams and Blue Hansen – DPS Pulse (Grade 5 Year 5 & 6) We have had a change in uniform this year. All netball players are wearing the new DPS sports uniform (Black and white top and shorts). The kids look great in their new uniforms and show a lot of PRIDE when wearing them. |
